Job description:
Plans, administers, and oversees the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME, Housing Rehab and other federally funded grant programs. The incumbent interacts with citizen participation groups to determine community needs and incorporates the needs of the community with the goals and objectives of the City. Additional responsibilities include coordinating community development activities with other city departments, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, various public agencies and private organizations, and community agencies. The Director exercises supervision over professional, technical, and clerical employees. General direction is received by the Assistant City Manager.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of low income housing programs and associated funding sources.
Knowledge of Contract Law.
Knowledge of Davis Bacon Wage Rates
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development rules and regulations regarding the Community Development Block Grant Program.
Knowledge of Federal Register
