Job description:
Performs all operating tasks and decisions involved in taking raw surface water and processing it into quality portable water. Performs preventative maintenance, and major/minor mechanical and electrical repairs. Responsible for safe handling of hazardous chemicals. Must be able to work rotating shifts.

Attendance is an essential function of this position. The City reserves the right to require an employee in this position to work overtime. This position provides services or performs duties for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations. These may include services or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of your job. In the event of an evacuation, the incumbent in this position may be required to remain to perform needed services.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
2. TCEQ Grade “C” surface water certificate.
3. One year related experience.
4. Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
1. Previous experience with a plant SCADA system and/or computer.
2. Two or more years related experience in surface water treatment.
