Job description:
Position is responsible for overseeing the Fleet; Water and Sewer Line Maintenance; Construction; Streets and Drainage; Water Production; Wastewater Treatment; Lift Stations; Traffic Operations; and GIS divisions. Also responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Also includes establishing department goals and budgets and maintaining the overall programs within regulatory compliance. Represents Public Works frequently with other City departments, outside governmental agencies and the public.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree related field is required. Registered Professional Engineer preferred.

Five (5) years increasingly responsible professional and supervisory experience, preferably with a municipality or governmental agency.

TCEQ Wastewater Treatment Operator; TCEQ Water Treatment Operator preferred.
