Job description:
Responsible to the Park Supervisor for duties that pertain to park maintenance. Works with the Park Supervisor to ensure all safety regulations are complied with and implemented. Participates and assists in grounds, facilities, equipment and overall maintenance of the site. Assists with visitor services to include customer service, public relations, information, visitor safety and security. Participates and assists in the coordination, development and implementation of resource management programs and volunteer programs. Adheres to City Polices, Procedures, Work Rules and Performance. Supervises Park Ranger staff and volunteers.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent.
1) Supervises work crews, volunteers and community service workers.

2) Mow, trim, landscape and make plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, painting and roofing repairs.

3) Oversee custodial performance and function.

4) Plans and coordinates a preventative maintenance program and Standard Operating Procedures.

5) Coordinates park water and wastewater systems with other divisions.

6) Develops and implements division safety program.

7) Oversee parks’ wildlife management program, in conjunction with Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept.

8) Performs other duties as may be assigned

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Two years of general maintenance experience in areas such as: (1) Repairs to buildings, equipment, plumbing and electrical systems; (2) Grounds maintenance; (3) Public relations including customer service. This experience may have occurred concurrently.

• Minimum of one year of direct supervisor experience, two years’ experience involving direct employee safety training, purchasing systems, and human resources procedures. This experience may have occurred concurrently.

• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
