Compensation: $12-$16/hr. DOQ, employer-provided medical and dental insurance for employee; employer-provided Health Reimbursement Agreement at $143/month; deferred compensation program available. City participates in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (7% employee contributions, city matches at a 2 to 1 rate) with 5 year vesting. Twelve paid City holidays, 2 personal days and 1 floating holiday annually.

Job description:
The City of Hudson Oaks is accepting applications for a Water Operator I position. Primary duties include maintenance of water infrastructure. Installs or repairs water lines, performs water taps, repairs valves and fire hydrants, reads meters, monitors pump stations, aides in other department assignments and performs work order requests in a timely and professional manner. Communicate with employees and public in a courteous and diplomatic manner; ability to respond in emergency situations, must be able and willing to be on a rotational call schedule.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
Background check, physical, drug screening, valid TX driver’s license, good driving record and High School diploma or GED required. Tractor and/or backhoe experience desirable and two years water experience is preferred. A TCEQ Class “C” and/or "D" Groundwater license is required within one year of employment.
