Job description:
The objective of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Manager is to coordinate all facets of the citywide geographical information system. He/she must coordinate the GIS activities of staff in all city departments, i.e., development, implementation, operations, maintenance and training of all appropriate personnel. He/she must also represent the city to external agencies.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or equivalent school/work experience.
- 4 year’s experience with ESRI software including ArcMap (preferably ArcInfo), ArcSDE for SQL Server, and ArcGIS Server 9.3 or higher.
- 2 year’s experience with ArcSDE for Microsoft SQL Server database administration, relational database design, and implementation related to GIS and enterprise databases.
- Experience with mobile GPS/GIS mapping hardware and software (i.e., Trimble GeoXH with ArcPad) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of design, coding, testing, and implementation of traditional, object-oriented, and web-based GIS applications.
- Web design experience is highly desirable (i.e., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, on Apache and IIS server platforms)
- Experience in advanced editing and cadastral editing tasks in ArcMap.
- Experience with advanced graphics skills (Raster & Vector), CAD, computer mapping and cartography.
- Experience in supervision of personnel.
