Job description:
The City of Hurst is accepting applications for the position of PART-TIME WEBMASTER. This part-time position will work approximately 20 hours per week between 8 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday to be arranged with supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Design and maintain the city internet and intranet websites and update content as necessary. Coordinate the Website Development Team. Serve as liaison with City divisions to compile necessary documents and graphics for posting on City websites. Collaborate with the Communications Manager to implement the City Council’s strategies for website development. Create and assist with production of City publications as requested. Respond to City-wide requests for graphics and photographs. Provide graphical design support to assist with the creation of divisional publications. Arrives at work on time and works assigned schedule. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Ability to design and maintain Web sites, including internet and intranet, and to edit graphics to be used in web pages. Skills and demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, DHTML, and JavaScript. Knowledge of PHP or ASP, MySQL and AP Style preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Excellent skills in time and project management and organizational, documentation and personal skills to work with a variety of people and personalities. Demonstrated skills in advanced written and verbal communications. Ability to adhere to City of Hurst Code of Ideals.

Education, training, experience:
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Computer programming experience and Bachelor’s degree in public relations, graphic design or journalism preferred
