Job description:
This is a professional and administrative position with daily responsibilities to include the development of engineering project plans, specifications, and estimates for public works and utilities systems; supervision of the design and construction of engineering projects; investigation of problems affecting property owners, contractors, and maintenance operations; preparation of estimates and feasibility reports for new or modified services and structures; providing engineering advice and assistance to other City units; and interaction with management and the public on engineering issues. Work is performed with considerable professional independence and judgment under the general direction of the City Engineer. Prefer four years of technical experience, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional engineer, work including some supervisory experience, however will consider one year relevant experience; requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or closely related field; possession of, or ability to obtain, a Certificate of Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas; and a valid driver’s license.
