Job description:
The Transportation and Public Works Department’s Infrastructure Design and Construction Division is seeking a Professional Engineer to serve as a Project Manager for the delivery of several Capital Infrastructure Projects consisting primarily of neighborhood street improvements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the work of outside consultants; performing construction and project management duties and professional civil engineering work that consists of road, storm drain, and water and sewer improvement including design, construction inspection, contract administration and plans review of infrastructure improvement projects of varying scope and complexity under one or more funding programs.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Civil Engineering or a related field PLUS four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience of which two years must be in the assigned area of responsibility. The candidate’s experience should include infrastructure design, design management, construction management, construction and design contract administration and project closeout. Infrastructure project management capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, leadership and communication skills are required with the ability to work independently under the direction of an Engineering Manager.

Microsoft Office computer skills including Microsoft Project is required.

Knowledge of Primavera (P6) is a plus.

Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or in a state that Texas extends reciprocity. If reciprocity is extended, a State of Texas registration must be obtained within six months of employment.

Possession of a valid Class “C” drivers’ license and an acceptable driving record is required.
