Job description:
The purpose of this position is to support Emergency Preparedness Department functions and assist with project development, implementation and maintenance. This is accomplished by analyzing and coordinating tasks, communicating via email and phone with agency and regional contacts, coordinate internal, local, or regional meetings and develop project reports and letters. Position will assist with financial management and provide technical assistance in the areas of mitigation planning, research, and project implementation as well as special projects. Other duties may include coordination and completion of online grant reports; assist with recruitment activities, producing written correspondence, charts and reports for projects and providing professional support to the department and our members.

This position will be hired as a Part Time Temporarystatus and will work approximately 30 hours per week. This position is expected to work for approximately 12 months. Continued employment will be depended on funding.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:

- Emphasis or work experience in mitigation is desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and Access as well as experience conducting internet research
- Detail oriented, highly organized, with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and able to present to staff and outside clients/officials
- Self-starter who thrives in a team oriented environment
- Basic ICS courses are also desired but are not required

Position requires an Associate’s degree in a related field of study with a year or less of related work experience in Emergency Management or Public Administration or other closely related work experience.
