Job description:
This is an exciting and rewarding position with the City of Baytown, part of the dynamic Sugarland/Houston/Baytown metropolis acknowledged as one of America’s top 5 regions for jobs. This individual will install, maintain and service water meters, boxes, and meter interface units; connect, reconnect, and disconnect services. You will also ensure water meters and corresponding equipment are well maintained and functioning properly. As well as tested, repaired, and replaced as necessary for the City. This role is essential supporting the daily operations and goals of the City of Baytown’s Utility Billing Division.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
REQUIRED:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
2. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
3. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
4. Class D Water Distribution License from TCEQ.
5. Two years general work experience.
6. One year experience in meter maintenance and water systems operations.

PREFERRED:
1. Experience with Automatic Reading Systems and/or Hand Held Computers.
