Job description:
This is an exciting and rewarding position with the City of Baytown, part of the dynamic Galveston/Houston/Baytown metropolis acknowledged as one of America’s top 5 regions for jobs. This position, located at 806 W. Nazro, specifically entails supervising the daily operations which include surveillance, larvaciding, and adulticiding. Key responsibilities include: maintaining equipment, applying pesticides according to label and TDA regulations, formulating a daily plan of action, complying with TCEQ Pesticide General Permit, and determining treatment areas. Some travel may be required as necessary to the annual Texas Mosquito Control Association meeting. If selected for this critical role, team members and their eligible dependents who participate on the City’s health plan enjoy free medical care at the City operated Wellness Center. Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
REQUIRED:
1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
2. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
3. 3 years related experience to include ULV sprayers, control systems, and safe handling of pesticides.
4. Certified State of Texas Pesticide Applicator or Structural Pest Control Board; category: Vector Control at time of employment.
PREFERRED:
1. Knowledge of the Baytown area.
2. Prior supervisory experience.
3. Proficient with Microsoft Office software programs.
4. 4+ years related experience to include ULV sprayers, control systems, and safe handling of pesticides
