Key Job Responsibilities:
? Supervise on-duty personnel during duty crew hours of operation and as necessary.
? Function as shift supervisor, Incident Commander and company officer as necessary during responses to Fire, EMS, Rescue and Hazardous Materials incidents.
? Perform firefighting, rescue, EMS, hazardous materials and administrative duties as outlined in department policy, procedures, guidelines and directives and protocols.
? Conduct training classes for on-duty personnel as directed.
? Ensure compliance with department policies, procedures, guidelines and directives.
? Perform all other duties as directed by supervisory personnel.
? Manage assigned projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
Knowledge / Skills:
? Must possess a strong knowledge of the Incident Management System, fire ground strategy and tactics, current rescue practices and EMS patient care standards.
? Must be able to work in combination department composed of both volunteer and part-time fire suppression and EMS personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:
? Must be an employee of a career or combination fire department, fire training institution or fire/arson investigation agency while employed.
? TCFP Intermediate Fire Fighter certification at time of application.
? TCFP Fire Instructor I certification at time of application.
? TCFP Fire Officer I certification at time of application.
? TDSHS EMT-Basic certification at time of application and while employed and satisfactorily pass annual EMS protocol testing with department Medical Director.
? NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 certifications.
? Three (3) years experience as Fire Fighter/EMT with combination department.
? Valid Texas Class “B” drivers license while employed.
? Must be able to provide 80-hours of availability per month for scheduling to include. 10hr-day shifts, 14hr-night shifts or any combination including weekend periods.
? PREFERRED - TCFP Hazardous Materials Technician, Instructor II and Inspector certifications, TDSHS EMT-I and EMT-P certifications, NFA Incident Safety Officer certification and NIMS ICS 300 and 400 certifications.
