Job description:
This is an exciting and rewarding position with the City of Baytown, part of the dynamic Galveston/Houston/Baytown metropolis acknowledged as one of America’s top 5 regions for jobs. This position, located at the Baytown Community Center, located at 2407 Market Street, specifically entails Facility Reservations. Key responsibilities include, handling the daily operation of the Parks & Recreation Office to include all rentals and reservations for the City’s many venues and maintaining rental contracts, reports, security arrangements, payments, room schedules and refunds pertaining to the facility rentals. This position also assists with program and event registrations, as well as the coordination of various City events and activities.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
REQUIRED:
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. One-year experience in parks and recreation, facility rentals/reservations, special events, recreation programming, or related experience.
3. Office experience to include file management, word processing, spreadsheets, and desktop publishing and proficiency in typing.
4. Customer Service experience.
5. Good oral communication and organizational skills.
6. Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record

PREFERRED:
1. Associates degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Public Administration or related field from an accredited college or university or combination of equivalent year’s education, training, and experience.
2. Bilingual.
3. Experience with league and activity registration, and facility reservation software.
4. Two years experience in parks and recreation, facility rentals/reservations, special events, recreation programming, or related experience.
