Job description:

Collect fines, record payments and fees in case management system
Account for daily money received
Scan documents
Enter citations
Communicate and provide information regarding court policies and procedures to citizens, attorneys, prosecutors, judges, and law enforcement officials
Assist customers with payment plans and court setting by phone and in person
Prepare court room for docket on a weekly basis
Process mail requests for driving safety classes, payment of fines received, attorney requests, court date requests and returns related correspondence
Maintain the highest professional level of customer service by utilizing efficient problem solving techniques to address customer concerns and inquiries
Assist judges and prosecutor as requested
Able to multi-task and perform under stressful conditions
Performs other clerical and customer service related responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Two (2) years general office, clerical or customer service experience. Knowledge of basic computer skills, previous cash handling, posting and reconciliation experience preferred. Must obtain Level I Municipal Court Clerk Certification within thirty-six (36) months of date of hire and maintain ongoing requirements for Level I Municipal Court Clerk Certification. The ability to communicate in Spanish and English preferred. Must possess a current State of Texas driver’s license with a good record. Must pass a pre-employment drug, physical and background screening Previous court experience a plus.
