Starting Salary: $78,743 - $96,460 Year, DOQ

Under direction of the Development Engineering Manager, CIP Manager and the Transportation Manager, the Senior Engineer I has primary responsibility for managing a variety of difficult civil engineering tasks related to the project management of Development and Capital Improvements Program projects including but not limited to: project budgeting, construction management, cost estimates, obtaining easements, conducting meetings with consultants, engineers and homeowners. Assignments are broad in scope and require the use of independent judgment and initiative in making technical decisions of considerable difficulty. Incumbents typically oversee and review studies and design work prepared by outside consultants, although some positions apply their professional registration seal to plans and specifications prepared in-house under their direct supervision. Performs other related work as required.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering supplemented by six (6) years previous experience required, eight (8) years with supervisory experience preferred in Civil/Municipal Engineering and/or training that includes engineering drafting and design; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Supervisory experience highly desired. Texas Professional Engineer license required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.
