Compensation: The City of Irving is a member of the Texas Municipal Retirement System. There are nine paid holidays per year. For full-time employees, the City offers a choice of three health plans and group rates for dental coverage; provides one times the annual salary in term life insurance coverage with an option to purchase additional and dependent coverage; and accrued sick leave, vacation and personal leave hours are available for use six months from date of hire.

Job description:
Duties include typing police reports, affidavits, statements, warrants and memos; scanning and retrieving documents to/from electronic storage programs; preparing daily cash reports and deposits; answering and routing telephone calls; greeting visitors; and other general office duties. Duties may also include coordinating and scheduling classes, meetings and group sessions; and setting up meeting room for scheduled events. Hours may include evenings and weekends; some schedules will include mandatory evening hours. Applicants should submit hours of availability with application/résumé.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent and six months general clerical experience are required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills beneficial. Clerical and typing tests may be required. All applicants will be subject to a criminal history check. A conviction for Class B misdemeanor and above is disqualifying.
