Compensation: $11.00-$15.00 hr. DOE

Job description:
Assists in the day to day operations of the Municipal Court, requiring a specialized knowledge of Court operations, policies and procedures. Assists in maintaining all Court records, assists all Court clients via telephone or in person. Processes and performs all data entry on mainframe terminal and or/ personal computer. Assists in providing liaison between the Court, Police Department and defendants; and does related work as required.

Maintains records and reports to all Court activities.
Assists in processing complaints and appeals.
Enters Data into computer for all cases.
Collects cash receipt for fines and bonds.
Prepares daily cash receipt reports.
Prepares daily bank deposits.
Prepares daily past due letters.
Prepares complaints for officers.
Prepares and submits cases via electronic transmission to DPS, OMNI, and other collection agencies.
Creates and prepares warrants.
Sorts and files.
Prepares Communication through word processing on personal computers.
Works well with the public, co-workers, and supervisors, communicating effectively and maintaining composure and requests assistance when needed and is helpful and professional in all circumstances both in person and on the phone.
Behaves in a manner conducive to high morale.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
Minimum of two years experience in general business and clerical disciplines. Municipal Court based experience is given preference. Must have ability to quickly absorb knowledge of methods, practices and terminology used in court operations. Must have developed office, interpersonal and telephone skills. Must have ability to research legal matters and comprehend legal terminology, instruments and documents common to the operation of the court. Computer data entry abilities must be at an intermediate level of skill and knowledge.

Fluency in Spanish is required.
