Job description:
The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Allen Event Center. This is accomplished by monitoring the main phone and greeting guests. Other duties may include providing directions to citizens and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does not provide direction to other employees.

Essential Functions:

The information listed below is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of this position.

• Monitors the Allen Event Center main phone activity by answering incoming phone calls, providing information and answers to questions and transferring calls to appropriate persons and departments.

• Provides direction to guests by showing visitors where individuals are located and guiding visitors to their destinations if assistance is required.

• Ensures front desk is tidy and stocked with flyers, pamphlets, etc.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
Formal Education / Knowledge
Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines. High School diploma required or equivalency (GED).

No experience required, however applicant's with prior switchboard or reception experience is desired.

Certification and Other Requirements
Valid Texas Driver's License
