Compensation: The City of Irving is a member of the Texas Municipal Retirement System. There are nine paid holidays per year. For full-time employees, the City offers a choice of three health plans and group rates for dental coverage; provides one times the annual salary in term life insurance coverage with an option to purchase additional and dependent coverage; and accrued sick leave, vacation and personal leave hours are available for use six months from date of hire.

Job description:
Duties include repairing, installing and performing maintenance work on the water and wastewater lines. Day, evening, night or rotating shift may be available. Schedule will also include required participation in the standby rotation. Applicants should submit hours of availability with application/résumé.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
A high school diploma or GED and six months general labor experience are required. To be hired at a higher pay range, must currently have a valid Class A Texas CDL and TCEQ Class D Water and Class I Wastewater licenses. If not presently in possession of these licenses, as a condition of continued employment and to advance to the higher pay range, must obtain Class A Texas CDL and TCEQ Class D Water and Class I Wastewater within a specified timeframe.
