Job description:
Supervises plans, coordinates, organizes and implements youth and adult programs including leagues, tournaments, sports field reservations and sports camps within budgetary limitations. Acts as a liaison to youth sports associations coordinating facility usage and monitoring compliance with approved Youth Sports Facility Agreements. Other duties may include participating in Town sponsored special events, assisting in the operation of Twin Coves Park, and interfacing with other Town employees and citizens.

Examples of Duties:
1. Supervises, plans, organizes and manages community athletic programs.
2. Facilitates and coordinates all sports field reservations.
3. Oversees Youth Sports Facility Agreements with local youth sports associations and facility usage.
4. Administers the Concession Contract with the Town's concessionaire and oversees the concession facilities.
5. Administers the Tennis Contractual Services Agreement with the Town's tennis professionals and oversees the tennis facilities.
6. Develops, implements, monitors and controls the athletic programming operating budget.
7. Assists with marketing efforts associated with athletic programs.
8. Performs miscellaneous administrative tasks necessary for successful athletic program operations.
9. Recommends, implements, and enforces policies and procedures for the effective operation of athletic programs, including establishing goals, objectives and priorities.
10. Monitors and maintains the inventory, distribution, control and requisitioning of athletic programming supplies.
11. Supports other areas within the community activity center by assisting with special events, aquatic programs, recreational programs, facility rentals and facility coverage issues in the absence of staff.
12. Prepares and submits reports to include athletic program attendance, revenue and expenses.
13. Informs supervisor of all work-related activities as necessary.
14. Oversees the effective use of the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for Joint Use of Property with the Lewisville Independent School District.
15. Adheres to the personnel, safety, and department policies and procedures.
16. Assists Recreation Superintendent with the operations of Twin Coves RV Park.
17. Administers the Contractual Services Agreement with the Town's Track and Field professionals and administers the summer TAAF Track and Field program.
18. Assists co-workers and other departments as needed.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
A Bachelor's Degree in Park and Recreation, Physical Education or related field is required. Must have over four years of park and recreation experience. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / First Aid are preferred and will be required within 3 months of hire. Experience with the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation and the Texas Recreation and Park Society is preferred. Must have a valid Texas driver's license and driving record must be in compliance with Town policy.

Must have excellent leadership, organizational, training and communicative skills, both oral and written. To perform the essential functions of the job, must be able to perform strenuous physical activities to include running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs of sport and various equipment; to talk, see, hear, and read; to work in adverse environmental conditions; and to maintain an effective and pleasant working relationship with citizens, the general public, employees, and volunteers. Must be able to work various hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
