Job description:
Under the Direction of the Parks, Recreation and Library Services Director, the Volunteer & Community Service Coordinator is responsible for recruitment, orientation, placement, and evaluation of the City of Lancaster Volunteer Program and its participants. This individual will also identify suitable projects, services, functions and tasks to be performed by volunteer personnel. Develops and maintains working relationships with city employees and managers of agencies that are a source of volunteers. This individual is also responsible for community outreach initiatives for the Parks, Recreation and Library Service Department to include special events, community programming, partnership agreements and special projects.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three (3) years related experience in the field of Recreation or Library Services; or equivalent combination of education and experience; One (1) year experience coordinating and supervising volunteers or employees. Valid, Class "C" Texas Driver’s License required. Working knowledge of the following: Using word processing, office system hardware, computers, and the Internet search tools. Must have excellent customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
