Job description:
The Housing Authority of the City of Brownsville (HACB) is seeking highly qualified candidates for Chief Executive Officer to oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency. Located in Brownsville which is along the U.S./Mexico border, HACB provides affordable housing for more than 1,000 low-income families. HACB manages over 500 public housing and tax credit developments and it administers approximately 2,100 Section 8 vouchers. The five-member Board of Commissioners seeks a professional leader who is able to build solid management team and relationships with a variety of stakeholders. HACB has 61 full-time employees and a total annual budget of $15.3 million. The Chief Executive Officer will enact change and promote measures specifically designed to increase overall organizational efficiencies and effectiveness, as well as advance programs and initiatives that support the agency’s goals and objectives. A strategic visionary with a personable and engaging style is sought to promote a culture of teamwork and client service. Candidates should be politically astute with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The salary is open, dependent upon qualifications. Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field, and seven years experience in executive leadership required; experience in public housing planning or operations, or closely related field, e.g., a regulatory agency, is a plus.
