Job description:
Serves as developer, editor, and coordinator for TMCEC instructional technology programs including the website, online learning center, social media, and list serv;

Serves as the technical coordinator of the webinar series and the online learning center (moodle based);

Assists faculty and staff members with development of course materials, and coordinates speaker and staff requirements (handouts, bios, and audio visual needs) for TMCEC programs as assigned by Executive Director;

Coordinates production of course materials and merchandise with local printers and freight companies;

Packages course books, supplies and equipment and arranges shipping to seminar locations;

Operates copying equipment and assembles course books and board materials when needed;

Sets up and operates all audiovisual equipment as needed at seminars; sets up exhibits of TMCEC programs and conferences of affiliated groups; and makes presentations on TMCEC programs when requested;

Coordinates with on-site audio/video specialists at conference sites as to the technical requirements of the screen, projectors, cameras, and sound systems;

Audio and videotapes selected speakers at seminars;

Maintains inventory of office supplies, publications, merchandise, and equipment; solicits and receives bids on equipment, office materials and reproduction jobs, as well as responsible for disposal of obsolete or broken equipment;

Orders office materials, equipment, pre-printed books and special handout materials for courses, as well as office supplies;

Provides reports, graphs and visual aids including PowerPoint presentations, certificates and video editing;

Provides backup to Program Assistant II and assists TMCEC staff members in troubleshooting computer problems;

Researches and proofs articles for the TMCEC journal and website on court related matters under the direction of the General Counsel and Executive Director, as well as other TMCEC publications as needed;

Researches assigned topics on the Internet and via Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw as assigned by Program Staff;

Answers questions about TMCEC programs and projects, and performs all other duties as assigned by the Administrative Director or Executive Director;

Assists with ongoing revision of the TMCEC website, including design of website, converting video to digital format and documents to Adobe PDF format; responds to web mail; ultilizes Informz for online communications with constituency; and sets up online registration;

Serves as back-up for processing all TMCEC mail and answering telephones;

Assists with fiscal management of TMCEC grants as directed by the Executive Director and Administrative Director;

Runs errands as needed; and

Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Administrative Director.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with limited supervision. Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to diverse professional audiences. Ability to work well with judges and other court support personnel, as well as TMCEC staff members and volunteers. Ability to use personal computer in a networked system for email, correspondence and reports. Requires in-state travel. Interest in instructional technology, such as Moodle. Knowledge of html essential.

EXPERIENCE OF KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED: Knowledge of the operations of criminal courts of Texas. Knowledge of use and maintenance of computer projection equipment, distance learning networks and operations of typical office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and printers. Bachelor’s in criminal justice, education, law, communications, business or related field.
